Andrzej G. Chmielewski, a distinguished nuclear chemical engineer, graduated from Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) and obtained his PhD and DSC from the same institution. He has held pivotal roles at the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology (INCT) since 1983, currently serving as Director General. Chmielewski has lectured globally, contributed to numerous international projects, and authored over 150 papers and 65 patents. Recognized with high-ranking state orders and international awards, he played a key role in IAEA projects, contributing to the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005. His work in hydrometallurgy is highly cited, marking significant advancements in circular economy and metal recovery.
