Prof. Dr. Duc Nguyen Dinh, Vice-President of the Vietnamese Association for Mechanics and a distinguished member of the Professor Election Council in Mechanics of Vietnam, stands as one of the leading figures in contemporary mechanical science, recognized for pioneering achievements in advanced materials, structural engineering, and nonlinear mechanical behaviors; serving as Head of the Laboratory of Advanced Materials and Structures, Dean of the Department of Civil Engineering at VNU Hanoi–University of Engineering and Technology, Director of the Infrastructure Engineering Program at Vietnam-Japan University, Director of the Engineering Program in Automation and Informatics at VNU International School, and Director of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Academic Affairs of Vietnam National University Hanoi, he has shaped modern engineering education with exceptional leadership and scientific vision; holding a Ph.D. in mathematics–physics from Moscow State University and a Doctor of Science degree from the Russian Academy of Sciences, he progressed to Associate Professor and later Full Professor at VNU Hanoi, establishing a research legacy documented through more than three hundred publications, including approximately two hundred ISI-indexed works, ten editorial board memberships in international ISI journals, and six authoritative textbooks and monographs published in Vietnamese, Russian, and English; honored as a foreign member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and the International Academy of Scientific Inventions and Patents, he has also served in numerous influential scientific and academic roles, including leadership within national associations and high-level councils; recipient of prestigious international and national awards recognizing scientific invention, educational excellence, and contributions to engineering innovation, he has been acknowledged globally through listings such as the top ten thousand most influential scientists in the world, the top one hundred most impactful researchers in engineering, and inclusion in elite global rankings of lifelong scientific achievement; through his unwavering dedication, transformative research, and far-reaching academic leadership, Professor Nguyen Dinh Duc continues to contribute profoundly to the advancement of mechanics, materials science, and higher education in Vietnam and worldwide.
