šŸ” Personal Statement:

As a physicist and theorist, my journey began at the University of Belgrade in 1989, delving into diverse fields such as process engineering, nanotechnology, biotechnology, biophysics, rheology, and biological physics. Currently, my research is centered on exploring the intricate interplay between collective cell migration and the viscoelasticity of multicellular systems. I am equally intrigued by understanding how viscoelasticity influences the biomechanical and rheological states of individual cells.

šŸ“š Scientific Activities:

My contributions span over 100 papers, chapters, and a published book, “Viscoelasticity and Collective Cell Migration: An Interdisciplinary Perspective Across Levels of Organization” (Elsevier). Presently, I’m engaged in a new book project titled “Biophysics of Tissue Self-Organization in Morphogenesis: The Role of Dynamics along the Biointerface” (Elsevier).

šŸ‘Øā€šŸ« Teaching and Mentoring Activities:

Despite being a Research Professor, I actively assist colleagues in theoretical physics courses, including Rheology, Transport Phenomena, Chemical Engineering Modelling and Simulation, and Polymer Engineering. I’ve served on commissions for students’ Ph.D. examinations.

šŸŽ“ Career History:

Research Assistant (1989-2003):Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, Department of Chemical Engineering.Teaching Assistant (2003-2014):Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, Department of Chemical Engineering and Department of Polymer Engineering.Independent Researcher (2003-2014):Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, Department of Chemical Engineering and Department of Biotechnology.Research Professor (2014 – Present):Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, Department of Chemical Engineering and Department of Biotechnology.Ties with Industry:Collaborations with Pharmaceutical companies like Galenika and Hemofarm.

šŸ”¬ Current Interests:

My current interests encompass the viscoelasticity of multicellular systems, biomechanics of soft tissue, biophysics, multi-scale mathematical modeling, and exploring dynamics along the biointerface.šŸŒ± Embracing theoretical considerations of tissue surface tension and cell-matrix/cell-cell interfacial tension, I aim to unravel the intricacies of cellular behavior. šŸ§¬āœØ
